Trigonometry

Trigonometry (from Greek trigōnon "triangle" + metron "measure") is a branch of mathematics that studies triangles and the relationships between their sides and the angles between these sides. Trigonometry defines the trigonometric functions, which describe those relationships and have applicability to cyclical phenomena, such as waves. The field evolved during the third century BC as a branch of geometry used extensively for astronomical studies. It is also the foundation of the practical art of surveying.
Trigonometry basics are often taught in school either as a separate course or as part of a precalculus course. The trigonometric functions are pervasive in parts of pure mathematics andapplied mathematics such as Fourier analysis and the wave equation, which are in turn essential to many branches of science and technology. Spherical trigonometry studies triangles on spheres, surfaces of constant positive curvature, in elliptic geometry. It is fundamental to astronomy and navigation. Trigonometry on surfaces of negative curvature is part of Hyperbolic geometry.

Kinds of graphs

Graphs are pictures that help us understand amounts. These amounts are called data. There are many kinds of graphs, each having special parts.

A circle graph is shaped like a circle. It is divided into fractions that look like pieces of pie, so sometimes a circle graph is called a pie graph. Many times the fractional parts are different colors and a key explains the colors.

A bar graph uses bars to show data. The bars can be vertical (up and down), or horizontal (across). The data can be in words or numbers.

A picture graph uses pictures or symbols to show data. One picture often stands for more than one vote so a key is necessary to understand the symbols.

A histogram is a special kind of bar graph. The data must be shown as numbers in order.

A line graph shows points plotted on a graph. The points are then connected to form a line.

Formulas

In mathematics, a formula is an entity constructed using the symbols and formation rules of a given logical language. In science, a specific formula is a concise way of expressing information symbolically as in a mathematical or chemical formula. The plural of formula can be spelled either formulae (like the original Latin) for mathematical or scientific senses, or formulas for more general senses.[1] The informal use of the term formula in science refers to the general construct of a relationship between given quantities.
Such formulae are the key to solving an equation with variables. For example, determining the volume of a sphere requires a significant amount of integral calculus; but, having done this once, mathematicians can produce a formula to describe the volume in terms of some other parameter (the radius for example). This particular formula is:

Having obtained this result, and knowing the radius of the sphere in question, we can quickly and easily determine its volume. Note that the quantities V, the volume, and r the radius are expressed as single letters. This convention, while less important in a relatively simple formula, means that mathematicians can more quickly manipulate larger and more complex formulae.
Expressions are distinct from formulae in that they cannot contain an equals sign; whereas formulae are comparable to sentences, expressions are more like phrases.
In a general context, formulae are applied to provide a mathematical solution for real world problems. Some may be general: F = ma, which is one expression of Newton's second law, is applicable to a wide range of physical situations. Other formulae may be specially created to solve a particular problem; for example, using the equation of a sine curve to model the movement of the tides in a bay. In all cases however, formulae form the basis for all calculations.

Value of Pi.....!

Pi is a mathematical constant that is the ratio of any Euclidean circle's circumference
to its diameter. Pi is an irrational number ,which means that its value cannot be expressed
exactly as a fraction having integers in both the numerator and diameter.

Riddle me this....... Riddle me that.......

I am small in size and weight but
I have brought great civilizations down
because of lack of me.
I can be destroyed at will with no effort,
but I am powerful.
People kill for me.
What am I?
ANSWER: MONEY

I am a stage where dreams are made.
Those who know me would say
"You are gentle", even though in a fight.
Though sometimes down, I am rarely out,
Except when I go camping.
What am I?

Math Problem Solving

Young Larry stopped by the corner grocery store and read the following list to the clerk:

10 pounds sugar at $1.25 a pound
4 pounds coffee at $1.50 a pound
2 pounds butter at $1.10 a pound
2 bars soap at $.83 each

"How much does that come to?" asked Larry.

"Twenty-two dollars and thirty-six cents."

"If I gave you three ten dollar bills, how much change would I get?" said the boy.

"Seven dollars and sixty-four cents," stated the clerk who appeared to be irritated by all the questions.

Larry said, as he disappeared through the door, "I don't want to buy the items...that's our arithmetic lesson for tomorrow, and I needed some help with it."

One Thing Greater Than Math

Yesterday me and my friends went to a concert of Jeremy camp in a church at Taft Avenue Manila. We learned that not only math is with us but also GOD. Ye are very blessed if you could read this post right now because a lot of persons do not have computers or laptops. Even so, some cannot even read so if I were you I would thank HIM for all the blessing he has given you. We should be really grateful. there is only one thing greater than math and that is GOD.

Will you take math away from you?

Even though you try..... you CAN'T. From the time you were born math is with you. You cannot possibly take it away from you. I personally  hate math ( a little) but that's how it goes. Find a job not related to math....impossible. Farmers, fishermen and even janitors has relationships with math. Let's say they sdo not know how to count..... well that's not it. Shapes and figures are still part about the study of MATHEMATICS.

So, will you still take math away from you/ If you succeed i celebrate with you and tell that I was so wrong............. but I DOUBT IT.
